At the White River School we recognize that holidays are a very exciting and fun time for many.   We have also learned that when we minimize the “holiday hype” at school, our students manage better.  While we acknowledge holidays, we don’t hang a lot of holiday decorations in order to reduce the “holiday hype” at school.   Your child’s teacher will let you know if she or he is holding a small classroom celebration with treats before each holiday.   

With Halloween coming up I want you to be clear that we do not allow students to wear their costumes at school, nor do we like them to wear any costume make-up as this becomes very distracting and sometimes scary for others.   Please call me if you have any questions about this.
