On November 22nd we came together as a school family and enjoyed a delicious home cooked turkey dinner that was special because every person that attended contributed to the meal. Each class brought in donations to contribute to the meal, and/or helped prepare the food. We turned our gym into a dining hall and we sat together “family style”. The adults at each table served our students and we enjoyed wonderful conversation. It was very special to have so many adult volunteers that day, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible! Our fifth graders will be writing personal notes of thanks to the parent volunteers that helped us but I also want you to know how grateful we are! Our long time supporters, Brendan and Sara Blood of Blood’s Catering not only roasted and carved the turkey and made gravy; they also donated the use of 30 table and 300 chairs. I was delighted that Brendan joined us this year, he told me that he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the pre-k table! Brendan and Sara Blood have also donated the use of 300 chairs for our winter concert!
