Essential Personnel Parent Outreach 2020

March 18, 2020

Dear Families,

To better support the state’s response, the Hartford School District is working with Creative Kids Adventures to provide care for families of essential personnel.  Families who qualify for participation are defined by the state of Vermont to include

  • Staff and providers of child care and education services (including custodial and kitchen staff and other support staff) for children of other Essential Persons;
  • Providers of healthcare including but not limited to workers at clinics, hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs); nursing homes, long-term care and postacute care facilities, respite house, VNAs; designated agencies, emergency medical services;
  • Criminal justice personnel including those in law enforcement, courts, and correctional services;
  • Public health employees;
  • Firefighters;
  • Vermont National Guard personnel called to duty for this response;
  • Other first responders;
  • And state employees determined to be essential for response to this crisis under the State Emergency Operations Center.

In addition, to participate, children must be in grades pre-K to 8 and enrolled in the Hartford School District.

If you qualify and are interested in the program, please complete this form.

This is a fee-for-service program.   The program will run from 7:30 to 5:30 at the Dothan Brook School.  To limit exposure the program will follow the guidelines described by the Vermont Agency of Education on March 17, 2020.  This includes limiting group size to ten people, providing regular times for handwashing, and disinfecting high contact areas throughout the day.

Once the school district has established how many families are in need of care and the logistical details are finalized, the school district will send out more information and connect participants with the provider.

Sincerely,

Tom DeBalsi

Hartford School District Superintendent
