You are probably aware that influenza has hit our region early and hard.  Although we have not had an “outbreak” here at WRS…..we don’t want one!  Please reinforce the importance of washing hands with soap frequently.  If you and your child have not had a flu shot, we highly encourage you to do so.  The actual flu symptoms are serious and can be very, very serious.  There is also a stomach bug (Norovirus) that is going around the Hartford region.  We ask that you keep your child home if he or she is sick.

When you call the school to report your child’s absence please be sure to specify what type of illness:  fever, respiratory or gastrointestinal.  This will help us to monitor the frequency and number of illnesses.  We thank you in advance for your assistance with this.
