The Hartford Police Department is excited to announce its 8th Annual Hartford Area Youth Safety Fair on May 18, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., at the Wendell Barwood Arena (ice skating rink) and Hartford High School fields. The event is open to the public, with free parking and free admittance.
We are excited with the many activities planned for children and adults. Smokey the Bear, Sparky, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Police K9s, will be our guests of honor, so come shake their paws and have a family fun-filled afternoon with them and us!
Some of the participating agencies include the Hartford Fire/Ambulance Departments, Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART ambulance), the Vermont National Guard, and Vermonster 4X4.
There will be a bike rodeo which will include a bike inspection and helmets for purchase. All are encouraged to bring their bikes, roller skates, and skate boards (helmets and safety gear are required).
The White River Rotary will be selling food and refreshments, but you’re welcome to pack your own picnic.
Liberty Mutual will be offering Child Identification kits where parents can have their children fingerprinted. The Guard will be bringing their inflatable obstacle course and climbing wall for all to enjoy. Vermonster 4x4 is bringing a monster truck for exploring. Vermont Fish and Wildlife will be on hand with Hunter Safety information and much more!
There will be plenty of free handouts offering information on safety and the many resources available to our community.
Please call me with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you, family and friends on May 18th!
Sincerely,
Kristinnah Adams, School Resource Officer
